This was recorded in the studio of Thanet Campus Christchurch University College. As one of our assignments we had to make a jazz arrangment of a pop song. I chose to do Burt Bacharac's 'What the world needs Now'! The piece was fully scored except for the solo sections. We had to record 7-8 tracks in 5 hours so we only had 1 take. The band played, but unfortunately the trumpeter didn't turn up to the rehersal, otherwise it went okay. The piece was then mixed down by some of the students at the campus.

This track is my own composition, again recorded at the Thanet Campus studio of Canterbury ChristChurch. I decided to keep the melody simple using the groove to keep the piece flowing. Unfortunately the trumpeter lacked commitment by not practising. Apart from making mistakes he didn't inject any life to what was the lead part of the track. Again, we only had one shot, no re-takes and the track was stereo mixed straight away, no post production.
